A stunning cottage at the head of the creek. Gorgeous gardens, beautifully renovated and extended. Two double bedrooms. Superb living space. Highly specified throughout.
Why You'll Like It
A beautifully extended and refurbished classic Cornish cottage in an idyllic setting at the head of Penpol creek. This semi detached stone fronted cottage is set within stunning natural gardens and the garden gate and footpath lead to a side extension which provides a spacious reception hall. Once inside, beautiful natural tiled flooring flows throughout the ground floor and once coats and shoes have been left in the hall, you enter a large living room which is divided by a central staircase. A cosy log burning stove provides extra warmth and a door opens to the front garden. On the other side of the living space, French doors open to a superbly fitted, open plan kitchen /dining room. The kitchen area has pale grey cabinets with integrated fridge / freezer, double oven, electric hob and extractor, and dishwasher. The worktops are a marble effect and the kitchen has plenty of natural light thanks to the roof lantern. The dining area is a gorgeous "orangery “style extension with French doors to the garden - a really beautiful room to relax and entertain in. A luxurious shower room completes the ground floor space. Heading upstairs, you'll find two double bedrooms. Outside, the generous gardens are to the front and side of the property and have well kept lawned areas, mature shrubs and hedging.
Where It Is
Penpol is a delightful creekside hamlet with a working boat yard ideally located between Devoran and Feock. At high water the creek offers sailors, kayakers and water sports enthusiasts a sheltered playground and at low tide it's a haven for wading birds. The level tram road connects Penpol with Point where the quay plays host to the annual regatta and children love to jump into the creek and fish for crabs. From Point the tram road continues on to Devoran where The Old Quay Inn offers a warm welcome. Devoran is the start of The Bissoe Trail which runs across the county all the way to Portreath on the North coast so from the cottage it is feasible to walk, run or cycle over to Portreath! Penpol Creek meets with Restronguet Creek where The Pandora is a beautiful waterside pub with a floating pontoon to moor up to. From Restronguet Creek you can sail out through 'The Gut' to The Carrick Roads and Falmouth Bay. A truly delightful part of cornwall!
